National Holiday around the world
Around the world people like to celebrate and what better occasion than a national holiday. Here is a list of countries who will be celebrating their national holiday in the month of December.

Bahrain – December 16, 1971, This day is to celebrate full independence from British protection. The Bahraini's celebrate with a parade, speeches and fireworks.
Bhutan – December 17, 1907 Bhutan celebrates National Day and Gongsar Ugyen Wangchuk, the first king of Bhutan to the throne.
Burkina Faso – December 11, 1958. In English, this West African Nation means “land of upright men” and claimed independence from the French. They celebrate National Holiday.
Central African Republic – December 1, 1958 They celebrate Republic Day. The CAR celebrates with parades and a party.
Finland - December 6, 1917. Finland celebrate its independence from Russia. To celebrate they have a flag raising and many will commemorate the day by lighting two candles in the window. This custom has significance as it was used as a silent protest against Russia.
Kazakhstan – December 16, 1991. Kazakhstan was part of the Soviet Union until December 1991. They celebrate Kazakh independence with concerts and speeches in their larger cities.
Kenya – December 12, 1963. The United Kingdom had reign over Kenya. Locally this is called Jamuhri Day, and they celebrate with games and food and they drink Senator Beer.
Laos – December 2, 1975, While still a communist state they do celebrate Republic Day. Celebration consists of speeches and parades and is Mandatory. And then everyone goes back to work.
Niger - December 18, 1958. Niger became autonomous yet remained in the French commonwealth for 2 more years.
Romania – December 1, 1918, When Romania unified with several neighboring provinces ending with the unification of Transylvania creating what we now know as Romania.
Thailand – December 5, 1927. Thailand celebrates the Birthday of King Phumiphon throughout the country.
United Arab Emirates – December 2, 1972. Celebrates independence from the UK.
