Save Money Before Your Next Trip

This trick can save you a modest amount when buying the gear you need

This is not going to be life changing tip, but it will potentially save you a hundred dollars or more. It is quite simple and perhaps something you already employ.

With the advent of the internet you now have a hundreds of outlets from which to buy your backpacking gear from. But how can one know it will fit or feel comfortable in the clothing and supplies they are about to buy?

While preparing for my upcoming year in Australia I was in need of many of the basic things a backpacker needs. Naturally, I went to the Bass Pro Shop, the nearest outdoors store, to purchase the backpack that would take me around the world.

To my dismay, the pack was going to cost $209 if I bought it at the store. Instead I waited until I got home to find a better deal. Naturally, the first place someone looks to buy things online is Amazon.

One simple search and I find that Amazon.com had the exact same Kelty Backpack for $159. A savings of $50, and all I have to do is wait a couple extra days. It helps that I was able to try it on already and know what it will look and feel like.

This method has saved me about $100 so far. Here are a my best examples.

This is not a life changing method but it is an example that has saved me a decent amount of money so far. And if you are looking to save few bucks on gear for your trip then go to the store, find the right size and color of what you're looking for write it down and buy it online from Amazon or any trusted online retailer.
