Greek Isles and Athens

Santorini Greece from the top of the ridge

Santorini, Greece - This is a beautiful Island formed atop the rim of a volcano. The ships pull into the center of the island and tender boats to the port. You can get to the top either by walking steps, taking the tram or riding a donkey. One thing is for certain about Santorini, I have never seem so much ass in my life. At least a hundred donkeys carry their cargo(tourists) up over a hundred steps to the top.

Mykonos, Greece with an atv

Mykonos, Greece - You will find several panorama from Mykonos. This happened because it is such a laid back island during the day, taking photos was the best activity for me. It was that or waste away with an ice cold Mythos on the beach. On second thought, I don't know why I took so many photos...

Mykonos, Greece deserted beach

Mykonos, Greece - Here is a very desolate place on one of the islands' many beaches. You can only see a few buildings along the hills which did not have very many people around. On an ATV, we were able to drive off road through many rock paths to places you can't get to with a vehicle or on a proper tour. Fortunately, if you don't read greek script, you can't get in trouble for trespassing.

Mykonos, Greece and so many white walled houses

Mykonos, Greece - Here is another hillside over looking the water. This was on a more populated side of the island. You can see here all of the short rock walls many of which are used to contain goats. You might think that a wall that short can't hold them. This is why many of the goats had either their 2 left or 2 right legs chained together, so they couldn't get over the fence. At least I think that is why they were chained like that.

Mykonos, Greece with overcast day

Mykonos, Greece - Here is the morning and a handful of white walled houses in Mykonos. The houses are painted blue and white for a couple reasons. To reflect the heat is most obvious as they have such hot summers. As well, the building materials are made of white plaster of calcium carbonate or limestone.

Athens Greece Amphitheater still under construction

Athens, Greece - This is of an amphitheater in Athens Greece. As you can see it is still under construction. You would think that after hundreds of years the greek empire could at least finish a theatre by now... Opa!
